Betfair sponsors FC Barcelona

The British sports betting company Betfair has been putting their efforts tha last years into both horseracing and cricket which are two good sports to market for their target markets that consist of UK and former colonies. Betfair has now made a new approach with their marketing and are broadening their market with a big push on football. Betfair will be visible all over Europe with their two new sponsor deals and on top of that Betfair has launched a dedicated football site for all sports betters who are specially interested in Football.
Just three weeks ago Betfair signed a deal with Manchester United and now Betfair has taken a big step over to mainland Europe and signed a big contract as sponsors for the Spanish club FC Barcelona. The Catalan Club will have Betfair as their main gambling sponsor for the year and promotions from both FC Barcelona and Betfair will follow the sponsorship deal. A part of the contract between Betfair and Barcelona will be for Barcelona to promote Betfairs sports exchange in the Spanish market through the FC Barcelona website. Alongside the promotions FC Barcelona runs on their site Betfair will also make big promotions for FC Barcelona fans and will make promotions for players to be able to visit Camp Nou and watch the team play.
The Spanish football market has been a target lately by many gambling companies investing their money in sponsorship deals with Spanish teams. Not only the teams are getting courted by gambling companies, even the rights for broadcasting of the two highest divisions in Spain has been purchased by the betting company Bwin.
