BetStopper helps parents control who uses a betting site

The Nova Scotia Gambling Corp. has created a new product to keep underage people to gamble online. The Corporation has developed the software since 2006 and has made several live studies with the end product and the results are excellent. The project took place since it after studies of gambling patterns was revealed that underage youth played 3 times the amount as adults in online gambling portals. BetStopper is the end products name and helps parents take control over the children’s betting behaviors.
BetStopper has been installed in several participants home computers as a pilot test of the product and it works in such way that after the installation is complete the administrator of the system has to set up different accounts for all members of the family on the computer. BetStopper then is initiated and blocks the accounts belonging to underage members of accessing gambling sites by blocking IP addresses to the betting sites. The software is the only of its kind in the world.
The Pilot tests was done with 250 families and the surveys afterwards concludes that 80% found the software to be easy to use and 92% found the software to be a good way of disabling youths from accessing online gambling sites. Other pros are that most of the families believed it made them talk about the drawbacks of underage gambling and all but 1% thought it was a great thing to release by The Nova Scotia Gambling Corp.
