Mar 26, 2010
Another great event is happening in one of the most lucrative European gaming markets. Italy has proven that being the biggest online gaming profiteering markets in Europe. The only issue with Italy is that it’s opening up its online gambling market too slowly, and with online payment processors on hand and ready for the explosion, it is bound to have a material effect on the country gross domestic income. Currently the Italian government is issuing licences with the top operators standing in line to apply.
A Company that has seen huge potential in Italy is Bwin, and they hold the largest share in the EU Gaming market. By holding an estimated 5 million players on their poker network Bwin went into partnership with one of 888 Holdings B2b divisions namely Dragonfish. This comes after the Bwin acquired Gioco Digitale in September 09. With this acquisition payment processors like PayPal and Moneybookers will flourish in the market believed to be the most lucrative online gaming market. Online payment has become a vital part of gambling in Italy and a positive fact is that payment processors will work closely with operators to make transaction times faster and safer.
Bwin will inherit some of Dragonfish’s state of the art technology, operations and risk divisions. They will endeavour to do the marketing in Italy and will also handle the epayment options for players. Dragonfish is based on a platform delivering well over the thousand multi lingual games, so the players will never be board when it comes to online gambling. Featuring Sportsbook, Bingo, Casino and Poker, Dragofish has a broad spectrum and full suite of products and with Bwin running the project the Italian market is sure to expand.
