Freddie Ellis has lived an interesting life with several different careers. At one point he tried to make it as a singer and have been a regular singer on several night clubs around the US as well as released a few albums. After marrying his late wife he decided to stop moving around the country trying to make it as a artist and settled down. Freddie started to invest in real estates and that proved to be very prosperous for him. Ellis is now days semi-retire and a regular player in the poker rooms in Atlantic City during the weekends. The event that Ellis has won was the first time ever he sat down at a World Series Of Poker table and with lots of skills and luck he ended up walking away with a gold and bracelet and $373,751 for the first place.
The Seven-Card stud event used to be the largest event except the main event but has lost lots of players during the last 10 years. This year the recently most popular event attracted 142 players making the buy in of $10,000 and playing down to the winner over 3 days. The final table consisted of three former WSOP bracelet winners. The Heads Up match to finish it off was a battle between Freddie Ellis and Eric Drache who is a legend in the WSOP scene and used to be an announcer of the event from 1980 to 1987.
