Interwetten sponsors MotoGP team

Nov 25, 2009

Interwetten has shown a big interest in motorsports all the way since the sportsbook opened up for customers and the Austrian company with their head office located on the Mediterranean island Malta has been sponsoring motorsport ever since 2001. The Austrian site has had a racing team named Interwetten.com Racing that from the beginning competed in the Formula VW series and just the second year the team won the championship both for the driver as well as the team championship title.

In 2004 the team moved up to the Formula Renault V6 series that was just active during one year before the series changed names to World Series by Renault. In 2006 the team had their first great success in the World Series for the formula cars and won the team title for the year.  For the upcoming 2010 season the Interwetten will go further into another motorsport and it has been confirmed that Interwetten will start sponsoring the Honda Team in the MotoGP series as well as keep the Formula team.

The sponsor deal that has been made between Honda and Interwetten has spawned out into a new team named Interwetten Honda MotoGP Team. Interwetten sponsored Honda in both the 125cc and 250cc class last year and is now taking its first steps in the MotoGP series. Interwetten has hired the world champion of the 250 cc class Hiroshi Aoyama as their rider for the MotoGP series of 2010 that will start in Qatar in April 2010. Players interested in betting on the races will be able to do that through the Interwetten sportsbook.
