Its soon time for a new member in the Poker Hall of Fame

Of the 37 Poker Hall of Fames delegates there are only 15 still alive. These 15 delegates are about to cast their votes to decide whom of the candidates for 2009 receives his honorary seat in the finest of poker societies. The 15 living Hall of Famer will together with 15 people from the media decide which one of the 9 candidates wins and the winner will be presented the 7th of November in a gala dinner in honor for the Poker Hall of Famers. The list of candidates has been narrowed down to 9 that are eligible for the jury to vote for.
The candidates that are up for the vote are Barry Greenstein, Mike Sexton, Daniel Negreanu, Scotty Nguyen, Men Nguyen, Tom McEvoy, Phil Ivey, Erik Seidel and Dan Harrington. To reach the level where you are a candidate for the Poker Hall of Fame there are a few criteria’s that has to be met, and those are:
1. Player has to played poker against the top competition.
2. Played for High stakes.
3. Played well during the test of time.
4. Played consistently good.
For non poker players that might be up for a seat in the Poker Hall of Fame the Criteria is that they have contributed a great deal to the poker community and that the contribution has lasted for a long period of time such as Benny Binion who inaugurated the World Series of Poker in 1970.
The now living member who has had his seat for the longest in the Hall of Fame is Doyle Brunnson who was voted a part of the hall of fame in 1988.
