It is believed that Europe and UK has the highest concentration of online gamblers within the online gambling industry, all in one region. This region is dominating and it is proven to be a huge business but in other parts of the globe internet gambling is coming to their own by it expanding to parts of the globe not as common. The Oceanic region of the world comprising of Asia, Australia and New Zealand is seeing a huge uptake in online activity especially online gambling. One cannot compare these markets to Europe, but it is certainly growing, which in turn is a positive step for the industry.
One country that has had some controversy regarding online gambling is Australia. The Australian government is still indecisive of whether it is legal or illegal. Steps are suggested to regulate this form of online behaviour as it has a huge effect on land based casinos. The Australian market is a very good market for online gambling and the government can only benefitting from legalising online gambling as they can use that money for other purposes. A positive step is that the Australian government is looking at methods to accommodate all parties.
Just south of Australia lies another country where online gambling is popular. New Zealand offers a wide variety of online casinos to their residents. This country is seen to have big potential in the online industry. The result of the popularity is that online operators are expanding their business and online operations closer to the Oceania region to grow their businesses even more. Expanding online gambling in the Oceania region and regulating online gambling can only benefit the various governments in a good way.
