One of the oldest poker tours has been set up for a new season. WPT will be heading out for their 8th year with 12 stops all over the United States. The tour has added a few new locations to the route for their next season and is now including both Hawaii and will also be hosting an event in the middle of Indiana. The founder and CEO of the World Poker Tour Steve Lipscombe Says that he is looking forward to the new season and hopes that many players will show up and play their game and to keep on putting the WPT as one of the best poker tours in the world.

The American Poker Pro Phil Ivey has picked up his second win of the 2009 World Series of Poker awarding him with yet another WSOP Bracelet. The second win of the season came in a brand new event called Omaha 8-or-better/Seven-card Stud 8-or-better (Event 25) with a buy in of $2500. The two day event attracted 376 players that had been played down to 14 after day one and the final table had two other bracelet holders competing for yet another price pool of over 200,000 dollars, that in the end went to Phil Ivey.

Yesterday the first of the 10 different World Series Of Pokers $10,000 events was settled and the winner is a 74 year old real estate broker. Freddie Ellis originally from Miami but living in New York is the winner of the Seven- Card stud event that was number 6 of the 57 total events. The event attracted 1432 players and making the price pool of the event $1,134,800, Freddie Ellis payed up and cleared the starting field and won the event over some of the world’s most prominent Seven-card stud players.
