Mar 29, 2010

Paypal has started their expansion into Africa, just this week First National Bank announced that it will be offering PayPal as an online payment method to their valued clients based in South Africa. PayPal will now be found on the client’s internet payment profile as a preferred payment method. This is a huge innovation for the African market and especially South Africa where online gambling is on the up and becoming more popular. It is estimated that with PayPal as preferred payment method, the online payment processing value will increase by three fold.

As a preferred gambling deposit option, PayPal has met and exceeded all expectations set out for an online payment provider. Through the years PayPal has proven to be a successful processor of online transactions in the gambling industry. They are continuing to do so by entering the African market by partnering with one of Africa’s most influential and main banking entities. This step will be the first of many for PayPal to enter the African market. With PayPal around the gambling industry in Africa will get a boost as online players have been asking for this payment method for at least 2 years.

Safety and security is one of PayPal’s main focuses and what makes this deal so exciting is that anyone with a PayPal account can now transact with online casinos offering PayPal as payment option. Just as online casinos offer payment methods like Neteller, Click2Pay and Moneybookers, it has become clear that PayPal is a firm contender and is engaging to become a leader in the online payment processing field. PayPal can accept various currencies, but for South Africans the exchange currency for PayPal will be US Dollar.
