Jun 22, 2009
The Payment solution owned by the world’s largest online auction site eBay has recently announced that they are reducing costs for customers on Paypal to increase the usage of the world wide payment method. All US Residents can use Paypal to transfer money to other user’s accounts for free as long as the payment is funded from a a bank checking account or by using the customers own balance on the Paypal account. Paypal has also introduced the possibility to let the receiver pay for the transactions when using a credit or debit card.
Paypal was the result of the merger between two student owned companies Confinity and x.com in the late 90’s. The goal was to start a financial service based on the email address of the account holder. The first Version was launched in 1999 and in 200 and 2001 it was more used on eBay than any of eBays own payment options. This caught the interest of the eBay group who made a bid to buy the full rights of the payment system. In 2002 eBay took over Paypal and paid 1.5 Billion US Dollars for the payment solution.
Paypal is an excellent way of making transactions to friends and family, it is also an excellent way of paying merchants for products as well as depositing money into an account at an online gambling site. Paypal is fast secure and has several built in functions to avoid fraud so the payment option is perfectly safe to use as a way of handling money online. The Paypal payment solution can be used by customers worldwide and is easy to reach as well as smooth and simple to understand and opening an account is free of charge.
