Pokerstars launches North American Poker Tour

The worlds largest online poker site Pokerstars announced this week that it was launching the North American Poker Tour (NAPT). And their tagline indicates that it will be the first major poker tour in North America that is created by poker players, for poker players. The tournament is set to offer accessible buy-ins for the players making sure that thousands of players will join up and take part of the North American Poker Tour creating massive prize pools. Making sure that the poker players will be competing for millions of dollars.

Pokerstars has during a number of years offered some of the world’s largest and most prestigious poker tournaments throughout Europe with their European Poker Tour, Asia with the Asian Poker Tour and in South America with LAPT that stands for Latin American Poker Tour. Pokerstars has not tried to attempt a poker tour on the North American market as of yet but their strategy of more affordable tournaments alongside with heavy marketing will most likely prove to be a success for the largest online poker room in the world.

The first event in the North American Poker Toru will has recently been played and it is called the PCA. The event used to be a part of the European Poker Tour circuit and has been played from the 5th of January to the 11th of January and attracted 1529 players to sit down at the tables and try to win the grand prize of $2.2 million. The next event on the tour is in the Venetian in Las Vegas during February and in April it will be the event the Mohegan Sun. More events will be added by Pokerstars within short.
