Residents of UK gambles more online

The UK Gambling commission has released the results from a survey they have conducted by asking 8000 adults in The United Kingdom about gambling online. The results from the survey shows that it is an slight increase of the residents of United Kingdom that uses remote gambling, but there is still a long way for the gaming companies before they have convinced the whole market. The questions asked where if the resident had used any form of remote gambling during the previous twelve months.

The results ended up showing that 9.9 percent of the asked peopled had used any form of remote gambling which is an increase with 1.1 percent since 2008 and 2,7 since 2007 when the numbers was at 7.2%. The Gambling Commission stated that most players plays lotteries online making up a total of 7.5% of the participants in the survey, including the national lottery. Sports betting is the second most popular thing to place money on when playing online and 2.5% had placed a bet the last 12 months. Poker came in third with 1.8 percent of the asked people playing the game.

The Gambling portals have a long way to go before conquering a larger part of the population and according to the results they should also try to focus on other segments since it is still male between 18 and 44 spending the most money and playing most frequently on online gambling sites. Over 90% of the population is still not convinced that it is a good idea to play online and females are more skeptic than male.
