Make secure payments using credit cards

There are many people who are hesitant to use a credit card online due to the risk of fraud or get their credit card details stolen and their bank accounts emptied by fraudsters online. That’s why all the larger financial institutes always try to be in the frontline of technical solutions within the security field when it comes to online transactions. MasterCard and Visa is two of the organizations who has put a lot of money and effort towards protecting their credit card holders against online fraud.
Visa started one of their safety features Visa verified as a way of making their online transactions much more safe and secure. Visa Verified is a free service that a Visa Card holder can connect to the card though the financial institute the card has been approved and issued or by contacting Visa themselves. The Visa Verified works by letting the customer connect a special password code to the credit card. When the customer is about to make a payment using the card a pop up box will appear and ask the card holder for the password, when the password is verified the transaction will be made from the cardholders account or credit card to the e-merchant or casino site that offers the Verified by visa system.
The System has been adopted and further developed by MasterCard with their system MasterCard Secure Code. The Secure code works exactly like the visa Verified and has to be activated by the cardholder in the same manners as the visa Verified system. These personal passwords make it nearly impossible for a hacker who has stolen a card number to use it for their own benefits.
