Party Poker signs pokerpro

Jun 29th 2009

Party Poker used to be the world’s largest poker site but since the UIGEA Party poker has lost lots of their traffic. Even if this has been the case Party Poker has still managed to stay amongst the top poker rooms and offers their services to an average of 5000 players every day. To keep the action up Party Poker has made a lot of successful marketing around Europe which now is their primary market. On top of the marketing Party Poker just decided to take their marketing to the next level and decided to sponsor poker players.

The first one to receive a sponsorship deal from Party Poker is the British poker player and poker commentator Ian “The raiser” Frazer. The sponsorship of Ian Frazer is the beginning of building a Party Poker pro team that will tour around the world participating in big tournaments as well as being poker ambassadors for the poker site just as the poker legend Mike Sexton is.

Ian Frazer has proven to be a excellent player and is a specialist in shootout tournaments as well as shorthanded events and has cashed no less than 5 times in the World Series of Poker with three of the five cashes in 6 handed games. On top of the WWSOP record he has ended up in the money in both a WPT event as well as an EPT event. Ian’s total tournament winnings has exceeded 1.3 million dollars since the start of his poker career. Ian has been a VIP member at Party Poker since 2005 which is one of the reasons why Party Poker has made the choice to sponsor “The Raiser” and making him the first part of the Pro team to come. His comment after the reveal of the sponsorship is that he now can focus more on poker than his everyday job.
