Poker rooms to aid Haiti

It has been hard to miss that a major natural disaster has devastated most of the tropical island of Haiti. The earthquake that hit the island is one of the absolute worst earth quakes that has happened in modern time and more than 150 000 people has dies so far and the numbers is expected to grow to over 200 000. Many countries and organizations has come to the rescue to help the Haitian people in need and amongst the helpers online gambling companies has started to donate money to help out with food and water.

January 12 the earthquake ravished the small island in the Mexican gulf and the situation for the citizens in Haiti is hard. Apart from all the dead people there is an urgent need for the survivors to get a hold of fresh water and food.  The three major poker sites Party Poker, Pokerstars and Full tilt Poker has decided to aid the people in need by donating money to the charity organizations helping the Haitians.

All of the three poker rooms have created special Charity tournaments to raise money to help the people of Haiti. The poker rooms donates all of the tournament fees from the charity tournaments and has together decided to give the money away to the Disasters Emergency Committee. The Committee is a group of 13 different originations within the UK and the humanitarian group has aided at a number of different disaster areas.
